Up to two thirds of our daily exposure to harmful chlorine is through vapour inhalation and skin absorption when showering. Some areas of the epidermis are also more permeable than others; chiefly the scalp, forehead, abdomen, underarm, scrotum and any wounded or infected skin. Children, (with immature and sensitive skin) women (who have a higher ratio of body fat where toxins accumulate than men), and the elderly (as skin thins and weakens with age) are the most susceptible. Absorption also increases in hot, damp conditions (like your shower), which cause skin cells to expand.

The shower filter is designed to attach in-line to a 'normal' shower with minimal plumbing. It contains a patented filter medium called KDF-55, a high-purity alloy of zinc and copper, which effectively removes chlorine, as well as arsenic, mercury, hydrogen sulphide, and organic matter like algae or bacteria. The coconut shell granular activated carbon to reduce Chloride, Fluoride and odours. The Calcium sulfite to decrease Chlorine and water softening. The Infra-red Pi Media to transform and activate water in small molecules.
